Community college faculty hold information picket at St. Lawrence College in Kingston

Delegates to the Premier's Awards Banquet at St. Lawrence College in Kingston Feb. 23 were greeted by 150 OPSEU faculty members from 14 colleges. Sisters and brothers from other Kingston-area unions, including the Kingston and District Labour Council, joined OPSEU members at the information picket. The Premier's Awards Banquet was part of a conference of the Association of Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology, the marketing and promotion arm of Ontario's community colleges. Delegates to the conference included college presidents, Boards of Governors and the Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, Mary Anne Chambers.

Mary Anne White, organizer extraordinaire, L. 417 at St. Lawrence and CAAT Academic Division Executive; Peter McKeracher, L. 354 at Durham, bargaining team member and CAAT Academic Division Executive; and Gary Fordyce, L. 110 at Fanshawe, bargaining team member.

OPSEU First Vice-President/Treasurer, Warren (Smokey) Thomas, Region 4 vice-president Bob Eaton and Region 4 Executive Board Member Gavin Anderson.

A contingent of 28 faculty from La Cité were lively and enthusiastic participants in the information picket, including these three.

OPSEU faculty from 14 colleges participated in the information picket at St. Lawrence College in Kingston.
