To all MPAC members;

After a very thorough and challenging debate, the OPSEU members at MPAC have ratified the August 16 protocol. The vote was 71.5% in favour of ratification.

This vote was NOT an endorsation of the Futures reorganization. Every member I talked with agreed that the plan is badly flawed and will have to be revised if MPAC is going to fulfill its mandate. OPSEU will continue its best efforts to steer MPAC on a course that serves its clients and our members properly. All of us need to work together on that task.

On behalf of the team, I would like to thank every member who voted, took part in the debate (no matter what their viewpoint) and especially those who supported the campaign against Futures. It was a great campaign that removed much of the harm (but certainly not all!) the reorganization was threatening us with. What is critical for all of us is that we move forward together and face the challenges that this employer is putting before us. 

It is an incredibly stressful time for us all. It is important that we help each other get through it as best we can.

You will be hearing regularly from your leadership, and we count on your feedback and support in this struggle.
