OPSEU: Strike set for Thursday May 1 at Grey Bruce Health Unit - Office and clerical staff extend deadline for final meeting with employer

OWEN SOUND – The Ontario Public Service Employees Union bargaining team for office and clerical employees of the Grey Bruce Health Unit will be available to the media to discuss the outstanding issues that could lead to a May 1 strike.

The team has extended the strike deadline to accommodate a final meeting with the employer April 30.

A news conference will be held in Owen Sound Tuesday:

Who: OPSEU Local 276 bargaining team for office and clerical employees

Where: OPSEU Regional Office, 1038-1042 Second Avenue East, Owen Sound

When: Tuesday April 29 at 12:00 noon

OPSEU represents 26 office and clerical staff at GBHU. Wages for this group lag 15 per cent behind their counterparts in other health units, and in comparable jobs in Grey, Bruce, Simcoe and across Ontario.
