Join the hundreds of volunteers will be gathering in St. Catharines on Saturday, June 25 to help conduct the community-wide vote to stop the privatization of the new local hospital. Volunteers will be staffing polling stations, main-streeting with ballot boxes, canvassing, transporting ballots, scrutineering
and helping with events.
Local health coalitions are organizing car-pools, van loads and buses to bring in volunteers. The communities of St. Catharines, Thorold and Niagara-On-the-Lake will be swarming with volunteers seeking every last possible vote to keep the hospital public. The goal is to get a
significant proportion of voters to take a stand to keep the hospital public. Already thousands have voted in advance polls. We can protect our hospitals if we work together to make it impossible to privatize them! Please join in --- the more volunteers we have, the more votes we'll get!
Logistics: individual volunteers, buses, van loads and car-pools are asked to arrive between 9 and 11 am, and to plan to leave between 4 and 6 pm. Those who wish to stay for the after-vote party in the evening are welcome. Buses, cars and van-loads are to drop off
and pick up at 455 Merritt St. (QEW to 406, exit onto Glendale (left), go to end, turn left onto Merritt, go over bridge and it is in a strip mall on your left). All those who register will receive a map, directions and further details. Please do register, even if it is last minute! This will enable us to organize those who are
coming to make the most productive use of eveyone's time.
