OPSEU Local 593 at The Clarendon Foundation ratifies new agreement

Members of OPSEU Local 593 have ratified a new two-year agreement with The Clarendon Foundation in downtown Toronto.

A negotiated settlement was reached on December 14, and was ratified on December 16, 2011. The new contract is retroactive to April 1, 2011 and expires March 31 2013..

Job security and layoff language were key gains, as were a general wage increase of 2% for April 1st 2011 and 1.5% for April 1st 2012.

The agreement includes a number of improvements for part-time workers, including a 0.5% vacation pay increase. Of the 65 OPSEU members at The Clarendon Foundation, less than a third have full-time work.

Workers at The Clarendon Foundation provide support services to people with disabilities, enabling them to live independently in their community.
