Please
click here to complete the online survey that OPSEU is requesting
OPSEU members who work as sonographers/ultrasound technologists complete.
Last year the Joint Central
Committee on Health and Safety (JCCHS) gathered valuable statistical
information from the WSIB regarding the incidence of work-related injuries
and illnesses affecting OPSEU members in the hospital sector. After
considering the WSIB data, the Committee agreed to initiate a project which
would gather more information about repetitive strain and overuse injuries
affecting sonographers given the high injury rate among this group
historically. Our intention is to use the information we gather to develop
strategies to reduce the incidence of repetitive strain and overuse injuries
among this group.
The JCCHS recently sent out
another survey, to be completed by OPSEU members of Local Joint Health &
Safety Committees (JHSC) in participating hospitals. That survey will allow
OPSEU and the OHA to get an overview of hospital sonographer units and the
numbers of work-related injuries in those units. We are also gathering
information on that survey to update our contact lists of OPSEU JHSC
members.
The instructions for completing
and submitting the survey are as follows:
• One survey is to be completed
by each individual sonographer
Please complete the survey by
December 22, 2006.
Thanks very much for your
assistance as we try to address repetitive strain injuries affecting this
group of OPSEU members.
