Dear Sisters and Brothers:
I am writing on behalf of the Ontario Council of Hospital Unions/CUPE, representing 21,000 hospital workers across the province, to express our solidarity with our Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) sisters and brothers who will be taking job action on February 13th.
We are very concerned with the Ontario Hospital Association’s attack on central bargaining with OPSEU and we are proud of the resistance and militancy that OPSEU members are taking to fight these attacks. This escalation of actions by OPSEU members is an inspiration to all hospital workers.
Our 21,000 members in 80 hospitals across the province will be encouraged to actively demonstrate solidarity with our OPSEU sisters and brothers. We will ask our members to join OPSEU’s picket lines in force, on our coffee breaks and lunch hours, and before and after work on February 13th.
