Durham Summit to discuss Central East LHIN Clinical Service Plan

April 3, 2009

The Ontario Health Coalition is organizing a regional summit April 20 to plan a response to the Central East LHIN’s Clinical Services Plan.

The plan includes proposals to concentrate five key services in a handful of regional hospitals: Cardiac Care, Maternal-Child-Youth Services, Mental Health and Addictions, Thoracic Surgery and Vascular Surgery.

The plan is the first phase of rationalization within the Central East LHIN, a region that stretches from Scarborough to Cobourg to Haliburton.

The summit will take place at the Tosca Banquet Hall in Oshawa from 10 am to 3 pm. Hospital locals in the region are invited to send participants to this meeting.
