What will you do when I'm gone?

Tell us your story

Now it’s your turn. Tell us about your experience with home care, whether you be a patient, a family member, a health care professional or support staff.

Family members and patients: Did you have trouble getting home care? How long did you have to wait? What is the quality of care? Are visits rushed or is there enough time to do the care? How do you get along with your care provider? Do you ever miss visits? Are you seeing a consistent team of care providers, or is it a revolving door?

Health professionals and support staff: What does competitive bidding mean to you? Have you lost your job when a contract changed over? Did you have to reapply for your job, and if so, did you lose salary and benefits with your new agency? Are you compensated for travel costs and travel time? Are you given enough time to provide the best care? Do you work with the Community Care Access Centres? If so, what kind of pressure are you under? What are your frustrations?

We’ll publish the best of your answers and collate these stories for a report to the Minister of Health.
