ISSUE 1 , April 2009

Representatives of the 12 Ontario Public Health Laboratories of the OAHPP met on Feb. 7, 2009 for our provincial demand setting meeting and to elect our bargaining team.

Team training was completed on Feb. 23.

Your bargaining team has completed two caucus sessions, on March 9-13 and March 30-Apr. 2 to review the OPS Collective Agreement (expiring December 2008) to prepare a new collective agreement that reflects the new structure and incorporates the demands finalized at the provincial demand setting meeting.

We want to assure you that we are representing ALL of the members, not just the Technologists and Lab Assistants and are committed to get a good and fair agreement for all.

WE ARE GOING TO THE BARGAINING TABLE ON APRIL 28-30.

We will continue to update you on developments in bargaining.  Check out the OPSEU website at www.opseu.org/bps/health/cbs.
