PLAC meetings suspended

February 18, 2010

OPSEU has put CBS on notice that we have suspended meetings of the Provincial Labour Adjustment Committee (PLAC) pending receipt of disclosure of information relating to the planned Brampton facility.

This information is long overdue and is critical to our ability to protect and enhance our members’ rights. The decision was also provoked by the inadequate prior notice given to the PLAC of CBS’s “National Facilities Redevelopment Program” announcement, which meant we were unable to provide prior notice to our local leaders.

The February and March meetings of the PLAC have therefore been cancelled. The April meeting is contingent on CBS confirming that it will provide the information to us at that meeting.
