Bargaining team seeks strong mandate – Vote Yes!
The bargaining team for the CBS provincial support unit is
calling on all unit members to get out and vote Yes in the forthcoming strike
votes.
After 10 days at the bargaining table, the union team continues
to resist pressure by the employer to make concessions to the hours of work,
overtime and consecutive weekends.
“This employer is not prepared to reach a settlement with our
members” says Brenda Thompson, president of local 210 and chair of the
bargaining team.
It’s time to increase the pressure so that when we meet in
conciliation management will be prepared to reach a deal. With a strong strike
vote we can head back to the table with a mandate to tell the employer to back
off its position.
The next conciliation dates are
scheduled for June 23, 24 and 25 with conciliation officer J. Quinn assigned to
help the parties reach a settlement.
Members can attend bargaining
information sessions and strike votes around the province. For the exact time
and location of a strike vote near you please visit:

Let’s demonstrate our solidarity.
Show CBS that you expect a fair deal at the table.
VOTE YES!
I will authorize the bargaining
team to call a strike if necessary in order to achieve an acceptable collective
agreement.
In solidarity, your bargaining team
