Bargaining goes on …

Bargaining on behalf of the provincial support unit continued Mar. 24-26 in Ottawa. Long discussions continued around the non-monetary proposals including hours of work and job descriptions.

Notice of freeze violations

Your bargaining team identified freeze violations during bargaining and put the Employer on notice for the following:

1. The change in hours and working conditions in Apheresis;

2. The “Pilot” at the Mississauga permanent site addressing the change in hours and working conditions, with the new 12-hour trial that addresses donor retention and satisfaction.

Thank you Local 477!

A big thank you goes out to our brothers and sisters of Local 477 for the tour of the clinic while bargaining continued. OPSEU negotiators Lester Yearwood and Tracy More were provided a tour and met various members on duty. A special thank you to Odette–DSR, Denny–Clinic Assistant and Phlebotomists Cathy and Cindy – all OPSEU Proud and Professional!

Bargaining updates in Bloodletters

Keep an eye open for upcoming editions of Bloodletters where the bargaining team will publish “Issue Sheets” to keep all members up-to-date on what’s happening at the bargaining table.

Be sure to post all editions of Bloodletters and Issue Sheets. For the sake of member solidarity and to be kept aware of what’s taking place with negotiations. All members need to be kept informed and know the facts.

Our OPSEU negotiators

We would like to take this opportunity to offer a big Thank You! to our OPSEU negotiators Lester Yearwood and Tracy More for thinking in their sleep and on their feet. They’ve been a great asset to the negotiating team.

In Solidarity,

Brenda Thompson

President, Local 210
