Information picket held as Renaissance Homes open-custody youth facility slated to close

July 28, 2008

WINDSOR: After 28 years providing service, Renaissance Homes Windsor will lose its contract with the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.

Renaissance is a 10-bed co-ed facility. Effective Sept. 30, 2008, the open custody facility for youth 12-17 years of age will close with funding for spaces to go to other facilities. Boys will stay in Windsor - girls will be moved to London.

An information picket was held in Windsor July 25 to draw public attention to this change.
