Social Services: BPS Corrections

Same youth, same ministry, different standards!

March 10, 2014

Ontario's youth justice facilities are run by two completely different sets of policy guidelines depending on whether they are part of the Ontario Public Service (OPS) or the Broader Public Service (BPS). This means that although all of these facilities serve the same youth and receive funding from the Ministry of Children and Youth Services, many of the BPS workplaces do not have WSIB coverage. Workers deserve better than inadequate private insurance coverage.

All Youth Justice workers deserve respect, safe working conditions and equal treatment. Please sign the petition today and get as many signatures as you can. Take the petitions home and have friends and family and neighbours from your community sign too. All completed petitions should then be returned to OPSEU as per the instructions at the bottom of the petition.
