April 11 information picket
at Fallsview Casino
Organized security guards at Fallsview Casino Niagara Resort and
Casino Niagara have announced plans for an information picket Saturday Apr. 11
to protest the slow pace of negotiations with management.
The information picket on Saturday is scheduled between 5 and 7
p.m. outside the doors of Fallsview Casino Niagara Resort, located at 6380
Fallsview Boulevard, Niagara Falls.
The 300 security guards, members of OPSEU Local 278, are
frustrated by management’s refusal to negotiate seriously. A strike vote is
scheduled for Apr. 16.
The workers are looking for wage and benefit improvements.
Management has responded with an offer of no improvements to wages and is
seeking concessions on benefits.
