A message from the OPSEU Ambulance Division Chair

May 16, 2011

Sisters and Brothers

Whether you answer a 911 call for help or respond to an emergency in a time of need, EMS week is an opportunity to celebrate the important contribution of ambulance workers. It is an opportunity for communities to recognize our work, dedication and commitment.

This week is also an opportunity for us to raise awareness on public safety and to showcase our profession.

Despite difficulties and challenges, we provide the emergency response, care and transport of the citizens of Ontario. We are often their first exposure to the health care system during a traumatic or life-altering event.

Although our time with patients is relatively short, we make a difference. We give patients the care and compassion required during their time of need and have the ability to treat and reverse life threatening situations.

Be proud of your work. Be proud of your profession.

We do make a difference.

In solidarity
