Fair Pensions for Paramedics: Taking
our case to OMERS
May 6, 2008 The
next step in the fair pension campaign for paramedics will be May 23 in
Toronto. Ambulance Division members will attend the 2008 Spring Annual
Regional Meeting of the OMERS Administration Corporation. Your Ambulance
Division Executive, along with members from CUPE and other paramedic
unions, will attend and plan to speak out on the issue of fair pensions
for paramedics, equal to the pension rights enjoyed by employees of
police and fire services.
The meeting is
Friday, May 23, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All active/retired
members and union representatives are invited to
register
online to attend or listen to the live audio webcast of the meeting
Members must register in order to attend.
Ontario’s paramedics deserve the
right to retire at age 60 with full pension, like police and
firefighters. It’s a matter of safety, and fairness.
